
YUL SPENCER a.k.a. "Spencer" (known in comedy circles) is a high spirited and intense actor born in France and raised in Oakland, CA.
Yul's comic career started at " The Improv " where he showcased his abilities as a stand-up along side George Wallace, John Goodman, and Jay Leno. This began a long ride in a career as a comic. Yul then got on at the "Comedy Store " as a paid regular.
No one could introduce him as Yul Spencer properly, so the emcee's just called him "Spencer." He only uses the, Yul in acting roles.
"Spencer's" first TV appearance was on the " The Arsenio Hall Show" which caught the eye of talent agents and bookers. "Spencer" was off and running on tour, performing all the major comedy clubs coast to coast. He's performed comedy for all genres of television, Comedy Central's "Make Me Laugh ", HBO's upcoming comics, BET's Comicview with six seasons and seven separate performances that constantly air even to this day. He lent his skills as a writer and talent coordinator to the 5 th season in Miami Beach for host Arnez J. He was aired ripping it up on SiTv's "Funny is Funny " with Carlos Mencia and John Salley's talk show " BET Live " on the couch with Snoop Dogg and Warren G.
Yul's appeared on Nickelodeon's "Romeo, " as Romeo's Uncle Jerome , also UPN's "Malcolm & Eddie," as "Spencer Campbell" with Eddie Griffin and Malcolm Jamal Warner. Yul's film debut was in the comedy movie " Two Can Play That Game " (Screen Gems) where he played the church-going-playa', "Trent," hugging up on the star of the film Vivica A. Fox. Yul co-starred in a Warner Bros. release "Super Spy" as "Slick Mango," a slick wannabe producer. Yul continues to be a triple threat with adding animation production to his accomplishments. He co-stars as "Ripple" in the animation show "Cisco & Ripple " which aired on Starz Encore TV .
During 2004-05, Yul Spencer toured with the stage play " Friends & Lovers " based on the book written by Eric Jerome Dickey and a star studded cast including Miguel A. Nunez, Mel Jackson, and Monica Calhoun." It was an excellent opportunity for Yul to hone his dramatic skills, which led him to a film with actor Glenn Plummer entitled " Snapshot Murder ."
His latest guest performance on the 2006 season finale of the Emmy award-winning show "The Shield " as " Tyrez Spank Wallace" next to Ally Walker, ("The Profiler") CCH Pounder, Jay Karnes, and David Marciano won overwhelming praise leading to possible future appearances.
Up next for Yul, they say the Marvin Gaye story, "What's Goin' On." Yul is expected to play the late and great "Richard Pryor." looking forward to going back to "The Shield" we'll see?

UPN's, " Malcom and Eddie " (guest star) and Nickelodeon's "Romeo!" .
He can also be seen in " Two Can Play That Game ," alongside Vivica A. Fox, where he played Trent, a charming church-goer. Master P's "Decisions" and "Still Bout It" where he performed the hilarious role of Melvin, the pimp on a bicycle with one working girl dedicated to him. He, also, co-starred in "Super Spy" released by Warner Bros.
Spencer has created, written and voiced numerous animated series including "Pookie Poo," " Political Disrespect ," " Cisco & Ripple ," (urban entertainment.com) and " Smitty & Martin ," which can be seen on "The Tom Joyner" website.
He continues to expand his talent behind the scenes. Spencer has written/co-produced Black Starz! Encore, "Barbershop" Movie Promo's. Not only did he display his talent as a stand-up in BET's " Comicview" 5 th season in Miami South Beach, but he served as creative consultant for the show and host Arnez J. He also wrote all of the sketches and bits for the venue.
